Jember Regency implements WFH and remote learning due to fuel shortages
The Jember Regency Government in East Java has implemented a Work From Home (WFH) policy for civil servants and remote learning for students to address irregular fuel distribution. The policy, which began on Thursday, aims to mitigate long queues at gas stations and reduce community fuel consumption.
Under the arrangement, essential service units—such as civil registration, sanitation, and health services—operate on a split schedule, with 50 percent of staff working from home and 50 percent in the office. Other non-essential departments are required to work from home while fulfilling their duties. Remote learning has been adopted to ensure educational activities continue despite the local fuel distribution challenges.
