Jembrana names 2026 Weaving Ambassador to promote local textiles

Anak Agung Istri Canakya Kusuma Dewi has been named the 2026 Jembrana Weaving Ambassador following a competition organized by the Jembrana Regency National Crafts Council (Dekranasda). The event aimed to encourage the younger generation to preserve and promote the traditional weaving of the Jembrana region.

During the selection process, ten finalists were evaluated on talent, attire, and stage performance. The winner, a student from SMA Negeri 1 Negara, intends to implement programs that encourage youth to embrace local weaving as a cultural heritage and a modern lifestyle choice for Gen Z and Generation Alpha.
