Jemimah Rodrigues targets inaugural Women's Champions Trophy

Indian batter Jemimah Rodrigues has expressed her ambition to compete in the inaugural Women's Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from February 14 to 28, 2027. The tournament will be played in the T20 format.

Rodrigues, who played a pivotal role in India’s first Women’s ODI World Cup victory in November 2025—including an unbeaten 127 in the semi-final against Australia—noted that the team’s recent success has increased their hunger for major titles. She stated, “We’ve tasted success once, and we know what it feels like to be at the top. The more you taste it, the more you want to be there.”

Despite her long-term goals, Rodrigues is currently managing a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred. This injury has sidelined her for the remainder of that competition, and her availability for the upcoming Women's T20 Asia Cup remains uncertain as she focuses on her recovery.
