Jena to host 18th Canoe Sprint Regatta at Schleichersee

The 18th Jena Canoe Sprint Regatta is scheduled to take place on August 22 and 23 at the Schleichersee in the Südbad area. Organized by the USV Jena canoe department, the event serves as the fifth and final station of the 2026 Mitteldeutsche Kanu-Liga, where the overall championship will be decided.

Approximately 350 athletes aged 7 to 65 are expected to participate in various boat classes, including Kayak, Canoe, SUP, and Paracanoe. Competitors from across Germany, as well as Belgium and Poland, are slated to attend. The regatta features a compact 150-meter track designed to provide high-intensity, head-to-head racing.

Special highlights include inclusive racing, such as the Mix K2 event featuring both para-athletes and non-disabled athletes competing in the same boat.
