Jena hosts senior singing event, photography exhibition and organ concerts

On Friday, 7 August, the Treff am Fichteplatz 9 in Jena organized a communal singing session for senior citizens under the theme “Lieder, die wir lieben”. Participants sang folk, nature, homeland and hiking songs, with lyrics provided and refreshments supplied by Café Kniestchen.

The same evening, photographer Ilsebill opened her black‑and‑white exhibition “Mit Dir” at the Kulturkirche Löbstedt, located on Am Teich in Jena.

Starting 29 September, the Evangelische Erwachsenenbildung Thüringen will run a four‑day workshop series “Vier Tage. Vier Künste. Ein Leben.” across four Jena venues – the city museum, Café Wagner, Kino Schillerhof and the Ernst‑Abbe‑Bibliothek – costing €30 per workshop.

On Thursday, 6 August, Matthias Grünert, Kantor of Dresden’s Frauenkirche, performed a free organ concert titled “Bach – neu entdeckt” at the Schillerkirche. Additional organ‑summer concerts are scheduled at Vierzehnheiligen and Kleinlöbichau, featuring a canon of 50 historic works.
