Jena hosts youth rugby tournament to kick off new season

The new rugby season for youth in Central Germany is set to begin in Jena. On August 29, 2026, the rugby department of the University Sports Club (USV) Jena will host a children and youth tournament at the University Sports Center.

The tournament features age groups from U8 to U14, drawing participants from Thuringia, Saxony, and Saxony-Anhalt. The event emphasizes team spirit and movement, utilizing playing communities where clubs combine players to ensure participation. While the U8 category plays in five-a-side teams, those aged U10 and above compete in seven-a-side rugby. Additionally, a participation course will be offered for children aged three to six.
