Jenaer Nahverkehr expands bus line 16 service

Jenaer Nahverkehr is expanding the service on bus line 16 to address high passenger volumes, particularly among students. Starting Monday, October 26, 2026, additional bus connections will operate between the city center and the Mühltal stop on school days.

To alleviate congestion on afternoon trips toward Isserstedt, the expansion includes seven additional trips from the city center toward Mühltal and four additional trips in the opposite direction. These extra services are scheduled to run shortly before regular departures to improve capacity and passenger comfort. The decision was made in coordination with the City of Jena.
