Jenifer Lewis urges Barbadian youth to seek purpose and demand policy changes

American actress and activist Jenifer Lewis participated in a youth engagement session at Frank Collymore Hall in Barbados as part of the Season of Emancipation 2026 Marcus Garvey Celebrations. During the event, Lewis encouraged young Barbadians to discover their purpose, embrace self-love, and reject prejudice.

Addressing specific social concerns, Lewis urged the youth to organize and demand that the government implement a sex offenders registry. She shared her personal history of childhood sexual abuse to encourage survivors to speak out and seek help. Lewis also highlighted the global impact of Marcus Garvey, noting his role in uniting people of African descent.
