Jenin: Israeli forces issue demolition notices and restrict olive harvesting
Israeli forces have issued more than 20 demolition notices for agricultural and commercial structures in the Jenin governorate. According to settlement affairs official Tariq Aghbaria, the notices target greenhouses, agricultural rooms, a park, and a car showroom. These actions affect areas ranging from the Al-Badia roundabout near Abba to the Martyr Shamikh Abu al-Rub roundabout near the American School.
In addition to the demolition threats, farmers in the village of Al-Arqa have been expelled from their lands and prevented from harvesting olives. In the village of Anin, several farmers were detained, including Abdel Rahim Azzamta, while picking olives. Aghbaria described these measures as a form of ‘silent displacement’ intended to undermine the economic stability and presence of Palestinians on their land by destroying livelihoods and seasonal crops.
Further notices were reportedly issued near the tourist village of Haddad regarding greenhouses located near a bypass road. Aghbaria stated that these practices, occurring alongside settler attacks, aim to transform Palestinian areas into uninhabitable environments and facilitate gradual land annexation.
