Jenke von Wilmsdorff experiences near-death experience during ketamine experiment
TV reporter Jenke von Wilmsdorff experienced a near-death experience during a self-experiment intended to find ways to combat chronic stress and improve well-being. As part of his new program, ‘JENKE. Experiment. Gute Laune. Wie kommen wir raus aus dem Dauerfrust?’, the journalist tested various methods to increase life satisfaction, including the use of ketamine.
A dosing error led to the reporter consuming a significantly high amount of the substance, resulting in a life-threatening situation. Von Wilmsdorff described the moment, stating, ‘So stelle ich mir den Tod vor. Ich glaube, ich sterbe jetzt...’ (That is how I imagine death. I think I am dying now...). He later remarked that he felt as though he had died and been reborn during the experience.
The presence of medical personnel during the experiment is noted as a potentially decisive factor in preventing a fatal outcome. The episode is scheduled to air on October 29 on ProSieben and Joyn.
