Jenke von Wilmsdorff explores laughter as a tool for stress management

Reporter Jenke von Wilmsdorff is set to investigate the physiological and psychological effects of laughter in his upcoming documentary, “JENKE. EXPERIMENT. Gute Laune. Wie kommen wir raus aus dem Dauerfrust?”. The project examines how laughter can serve as a tool to combat chronic stress and improve resilience.

Research indicates that laughter can lower cortisol levels, yet while children laugh approximately 400 times a day, adults average only 15. With two-thirds of Germans reporting feeling stressed or highly stressed, the documentary explores whether good moods can be trained and how to navigate the current mental health market, including life coaching and various mental health services.
