Jenna Bush Hager recalls discovering George W. Bush’s past engagement

Jenna Bush Hager, host of the “Today” show, shared an anecdote regarding her father, former President George W. Bush, and a past engagement. The engagement was to Cathryn Lee Wolfman, George W. Bush’s college sweetheart. The pair dated while he attended Yale University and she attended Rice University, with a proposal occurring in 1967. While his office confirmed the brief engagement in 1999, noting that the couple eventually drifted apart, the discovery prompted an emotional reaction from Hager during her childhood.
