Jennifer Garner discusses financial anxiety following Ben Affleck divorce

Actress Jennifer Garner shared candid reflections on the financial and professional anxieties she faced following her 2015 separation and 2018 divorce from Ben Affleck. Speaking on Emma Grede’s ‘Aspire’ podcast, Garner described a sense of ‘panic’ regarding her ability to provide for her three children after stepping back from her acting career to focus on motherhood.

Garner noted that she did not receive a ‘huge payout’ from the divorce and expressed concerns about ageism in Hollywood, questioning how long she would remain employable as she aged. She also highlighted the logistical challenges of being a single parent, noting that she could no longer commit to long-term filming locations far from Los Angeles.

These financial pressures prompted a career shift toward entrepreneurship. In 2017, Garner co-founded the organic baby food company Once Upon a Farm. The business has since seen significant success, with reports valuing the company at approximately $724 million.
