Jennifer Garner discusses friendships forged on new series “The Five Star Weekend”

Actress Jennifer Garner told German media that the most memorable moments of her upcoming eight‑part drama “The Five Star Weekend” were created off‑camera. The series, which follows food‑influencer Hollis Shaw (played by Garner) coping with a personal tragedy, premieres on Sky and WOW on 25 July.

Garner explained that the cast did not “try to play friendship.” During breaks between scenes they gathered to talk about “the really important things,” forming genuine bonds that sometimes kept them from returning to set. She recalled crew members having to “bring them back for the next scene” because the conversations became so engaging.

According to Garner, these off‑set discussions have become the most valuable part of the summer’s work, offering insight into both the characters and the actors’ own lives.
