Jennifer Hudson's career path from American Idol to Oscar winner

Jennifer Hudson rose to prominence through a combination of vocal talent and key career opportunities. Originally from Chicago, she developed her skills in church choirs and performed as a singer on Disney cruises before auditioning for the third season of ‘American Idol’ in 2004.
