Jennifer Lawrence to star in Zach Cregger’s ‘The Flood’
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has been cast to lead the upcoming science-fiction thriller ‘The Flood’. The film is written, directed, and produced by Zach Cregger, known for ‘Barbarian’ and ‘Weapons’.
Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema acquired the project after it was previously in development at Netflix. The production is scheduled to begin in Europe during the early months of 2027, with a theatrical release date set for August 11, 2028.
Amblin Entertainment, Vertigo Entertainment, and Roy Lee and Miri Yoon are also involved in the production. While specific plot details remain confidential, reports suggest the story may involve a deep-space exploration team encountering an alien artifact that affects time and reality. The announcement follows the commercial success of Cregger’s recent work, including ‘Weapons’ and ‘Resident Evil’.
