Jennifer Lopez shares emotional update on twins leaving for college

Jennifer Lopez has shared her emotional transition into becoming an ‘empty nester’ as her 18-year-old twins, Maximilian ‘Max’ David Muñiz and Oskar Jacob Muñiz, begin their first year of college in the United States.

In a video shared via her skincare brand’s Instagram page, the 57-year-old singer and actress described the period as a ‘scary’ and ‘transitional’ time. She noted that she has been looking at baby pictures and crying while adjusting to the new routine. Lopez encouraged other parents in similar situations to maintain daily routines and use the time to ‘revive some old dreams’ that may have been set aside during child-rearing.

The twins, whom Lopez shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, both received scholarships to their chosen institutions. Oskar is currently studying theater and studio arts at Sarah Lawrence College, while Max’s specific institution has not been disclosed.
