Jennifer Stone discusses auditioning for ‘The Pitt’ while working as a nurse

Former Disney Channel actress Jennifer Stone, who currently works as a registered nurse, revealed during a podcast appearance that auditioning for the medical drama ‘The Pitt’ triggered a panic attack.

Stone, known for her role in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, explained that she attempted to study her lines for a series regular role during her shifts as a nurse. While reading the pilot script, she encountered a scene involving a character experiencing COVID-related flashbacks. The realism of the material caused a physical reaction, including heavy breathing, which required her to use grounding techniques to calm herself.

Stone, who has worked in emergency rooms and disaster relief since 2022, noted that she finds the show difficult to watch because it is ‘too close to home.’ She also mentioned using ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ during nursing school to help learn medical terminology.
