Jensen International Automotive unveils new Interceptor GTX

Jensen International Automotive (JIA) has unveiled a modern revival of the iconic Jensen Interceptor, starting with the GTX track-focused prototype. This new model marks a shift for the company from producing restomods to developing entirely new vehicles.

The GTX features an aluminum spaceframe chassis developed in collaboration with Avant Design, paired with carbon fiber body panels and advanced aerodynamics, including a rear spoiler capable of generating 350 kg of downforce. The vehicle utilizes a double-wishbone suspension with adjustable Nitron dampers and an AP Racing braking system.

Powering the prototype is a heavily modified 6.8-liter supercharged V8 engine from Late Model Engines, based on the General Motors LT2 block. While only 20 percent of the original components remain, the engine is expected to produce approximately 973 hp, with a potential maximum of up to 1,217 hp. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a transaxle with a carbon fiber drive shaft and a six-speed sequential gearbox.
