Jensen Interceptor GTX debuts as 960-hp track-focused supercar

Jensen International Automotive has unveiled the Interceptor GTX, a new track-focused vehicle marking the revival of the classic British marque. Unlike previous restomod efforts, the GTX is a ground-up design featuring a hand-built aluminum body and chassis.

The vehicle is powered by a heavily modified 6.8-liter supercharged V8 based on General Motors architecture. Developed by Texas-based Late Model Engines, the powerplant retains less than 20 percent of its original GM components and is capable of producing up to 1,200 horsepower. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Samsonas Motorsport six-speed sequential transaxle and a carbon-fiber driveshaft.

Designed for high performance, the GTX includes racing-grade hardware such as Nitron adjustable dampers, AP Racing brakes, and a Wavetrac differential. The Interceptor GTX serves as a development platform for future road-legal models, including the performance-oriented GTR and the luxury-focused GT.
