Jensen unveils Interceptor GTX high-performance prototype

The legendary British automotive brand Jensen has announced its return to the sports car market with the unveiling of the Interceptor GTX prototype. Marking 60 years since the original grand tourer debuted, this track-focused machine combines traditional English coachbuilding with modern high-performance engineering.

The vehicle features a bespoke 6.8-liter supercharged V8 engine developed in Texas by Late Model Engines. While based on a General Motors architecture, the engine has been heavily modified with CNC-machined heads and titanium valves, producing 960 horsepower in standard trim and capable of reaching up to 1,200 horsepower. Power is delivered through a 6-speed Samsonas Motorsport sequential transmission to the rear wheels.

Designed for high performance, the GTX utilizes an aluminum chassis and handcrafted bodywork by Coventry Metalcraft. The exterior incorporates advanced aerodynamics, including a large front splitter and a structural carbon-fiber rear wing that generates approximately 350 kg of downforce. The prototype's design is expected to heavily influence the upcoming road-going version of the vehicle.
