Jeon Do-yeon nominated for Gotham Award for Possible Love

South Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon has been nominated for Best Lead Performance at the 38th Gotham Awards for her role in the Netflix film ‘Possible Love’. The film, directed by Lee Chang-dong, also received nominations for Best International Feature and Best Original Screenplay.

‘Possible Love’ follows the intersecting lives of two couples from different social classes—one working-class and one wealthy—during the filming of a documentary. The film previously won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival and has received critical acclaim, including a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jeon’s nomination is seen as a significant indicator for the upcoming Academy Awards, with international media outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter and LA Times highlighting her performance as a strong contender for a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She competes in a gender-neutral lead category against actors including Julianne Moore, Gillian Anderson, and Mahershala Ali.
