Jeonbuk hospitals join effort to establish National Medical Graduate School in Namwon
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, Namwon City, and several major regional hospitals have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the establishment and operation of a National Medical Graduate School in Namwon.
Participating institutions include Jeonbuk National University Hospital, Wonkwang University Hospital, Jesus Hospital, and Namwon Medical Center. The partnership aims to secure a foundation for the school by cooperating on educational personnel, clinical training, medical resource linkage, and the strengthening of public healthcare.
A working-level consultative body will be established to manage curriculum design, faculty exchange, and the shared use of facilities. The South Korean government aims to open the school by 2030, with an annual intake of 100 students who will be required to serve in designated public healthcare institutions upon graduation.
