Jeong Joongji, Produce 101 contestant, remembered four years after death

Four years have passed since the death of Jeong Joongji, a former contestant on the Mnet competition program Produce 101 Season 2. Jeong passed away on September 9, 2022, at the age of 30.

His mother announced his passing via social media, stating, “I can’t put into words how I feel right now.” Jeong first gained public recognition in 2017 during the competition, where he placed 64th.

Beyond his television appearance, Jeong was noted for his extensive volunteer work. He participated in Loving Hands activities to support children from single-parent and grandparent-headed households, volunteered at welfare centers for the disabled, and engaged in community efforts such as delivering briquettes. Tributes to his character and service continue to be shared by those who knew him.
