Jeongyeon of TWICE leaves JYP Entertainment for VARO Entertainment
Jeongyeon, a member of the K-pop group TWICE, has announced her departure from JYP Entertainment after approximately 11 years. In a handwritten letter shared on Instagram, she expressed gratitude to the agency, which she described as her “second home” since her teenage years, and thanked her fellow members and fans, known as ONCE, for their support during this transition.
Jeongyeon has signed an exclusive contract with VARO Entertainment, an agency that represents actors, including her older sister, Gong Seung-yeon. This move is expected to allow her to expand her career into acting while continuing her activities with TWICE. VARO Entertainment stated they are committed to supporting her new challenges as an actress while ensuring her group activities proceed smoothly.
Despite the change in individual management, Jeongyeon emphasized that TWICE remains the “center of her life” and that participating in group activities will remain her top priority. This arrangement follows a growing trend in the K-pop industry where members maintain separate agencies for solo endeavors while remaining under a single management structure for group activities.
