South Korean regions launch autumn tourism and accommodation discount programs
Various regions across South Korea are launching initiatives to boost autumn tourism through accommodation discounts and travel festivals.
As part of the ‘2026 Korea Accommodation Sale Festa’ organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, several provinces are offering significant lodging discounts. In Gyeongsangnam-do, travelers can receive up to 70,000 KRW off stays, with higher discounts available for island regions. Similarly, the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City is offering discounts of up to 70,000 KRW for multi-night stays, with enhanced benefits for 13 island-based municipalities including Yeosu and Wando.
In Chungnam, the ‘Chungnam Travel Festa 2026’ has already attracted over 11,000 participants through online travel agency partnerships and local challenges. Meanwhile, Incheon is conducting its second ‘Check-in Incheon’ accommodation promotion, offering 20,000 KRW discounts via the NOL app to encourage stays in areas like Songdo and various islands.
