Jeonnam-Gwangju expands eco-friendly vehicle toll discounts

The Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City announced that starting October 1, toll reduction benefits for eco-friendly vehicles on the Second Ring Road will be expanded to the entire special city. Previously, these benefits were limited to electric, hydrogen, and solar-powered vehicles registered within the five districts of Gwangju, but the scope now includes all such vehicles registered throughout the integrated special city area.

The discount rate will be adjusted in stages. The current 50% reduction rate will remain in effect until December 31 of this year. Starting January 1, 2027, the reduction rate will change to 30%. This adjustment follows the passage of the ‘Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City Toll Collection and Operation Ordinance’ by the city council.

To improve administrative accessibility, application windows for the toll reductions are being expanded from the existing Gwangju office to include the Muan and Dongbu offices. Applications can be submitted in person, by mail, or online.
