Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City will distribute 6.314 billion won in recovery funds this September to support farmers affected by heatwaves and droughts during July and August. The damage is estimated to cover 2,046 farms and 2,118 hectares of land.

Major affected crops include green onions (1,697 ha), ginseng (200 ha), persimmons (156 ha), and rice (65 ha). The most significant regional damage occurred in Sinan, Yeonggwang, Yeongam, and Jindo.

The funding consists of 4.26 billion won in national funds, 994 million won from the special city, and 1.034 billion won from municipal/district funds. Support includes pesticide costs and replanting expenses, ranging from 1 million to 4 million won per hectare depending on the crop. Additionally, the city will provide financial relief through the postponement of agricultural policy fund repayments and interest reductions for affected farms.
