FARC former leaders summoned by JEP to testify on gender-based violence
Colombia’s Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) has summoned six former members of the FARC’s final Secretariat to testify regarding crimes committed between 1990 and 2015. The investigation, categorized under Case 11, focuses on sexual, reproductive, and gender-based violence.
Among those summoned are Rodrigo Londoño (alias ‘Timochenko’), Jaime Alberto Parra, Milton de Jesús Toncel, Pablo Catatumbo, Pastor Alape, and Julián Gallo. The JEP is investigating approximately 30 to 34 victims across multiple departments, including Meta, Guaviare, and Antioquia. Documented allegations include forced abortions, the imposition of contraceptive methods, and violence motivated by sexual orientation or gender identity.
Additionally, the JEP has summoned Sandra Ramírez Lobo Silva to testify under Case 07, which investigates the recruitment and use of minors during the armed conflict. The court seeks to determine if Ramírez Lobo Silva had influence over the organization or knowledge of abuses committed against children.
