Jepara government distributes furniture industry social protection cards

The Jepara Regency Government has distributed 850 ‘Kartu Mebel Jepara’ (Jepara Furniture Cards) to workers and carvers as part of a social protection initiative. As of June 2026, the program has reached 850 recipients out of a target of 1,500.

Regent Witiarso Utomo stated that the cards are designed to strengthen social security for the furniture and carving sectors. The program aims to provide workers with access to BPJS Kesehatan (health insurance), BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (employment insurance), and old-age benefits. Additionally, the initiative seeks to expand educational assistance for workers' families by prioritizing them for programs such as Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) and Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP).
