Jepara Regent Witiarso Utomo Urges Village Tourism and Infrastructure Upgrades

Jepara Regent Witiarso Utomo addressed local officials at the Bupati Ngolah Pikir event in Tigajuru Village, Mayong district, on 28 July 2026. He called for the optimisation of village budget management (APBDes) and the development of local economic potential, highlighting the CFD Kuliner Tengah Sawah (CFD Kates) culinary tourism project as a flagship attraction.

Utomo urged village administrations to catalogue traders, draft tourism‑area regulations, and improve amenities such as widened roads, waste bins and vendor tents. He praised the support provided by the Dinas Koperasi, UKM, Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi of Jepara, which supplied stall tents to bolster market activity. The regent also stressed the need to assist micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) producing goods like kerupuk puli, onde‑onde pyur, and local confectionery, proposing digital marketing training and participation in trade fairs to expand market reach. Infrastructure concerns, including low bridges, damaged village roads and the Tigajuru‑Paren provincial road, were identified for urgent remediation.
