Jer Lau releases new single ‘The Magic Flute’

Jer Lau, a member of the group MIRROR, has released a new single and music video titled ‘The Magic Flute’ (魔笛). The track features music composed by Chan Lei, lyrics by Leung Pak Kin, and production by Wong Shuang Chun.

Lau stated that the song’s inspiration was drawn from scenes in the film ‘Elvis’, specifically the hypnotic power of a musical performance. The lyrics explore the irresistible and almost dark allure of music, describing it as a force that can cause listeners to lose themselves in a trance-like state.

The music video depicts Lau as the soul of music residing within a flute and a cassette tape. The narrative follows a female protagonist who finds emotional release and redemption through music after obtaining a cassette tape amidst a struggle. Lau also announced plans to release a final major work by the end of 2026.
