He wants to defeat Michigan on campus for the first time since 2018, capture the Big Ten championship that eluded the team last year, and repeat a national‑title run before entering the NFL draft.

Smith said he is focused on the present, stressing a "great‑great" mindset inspired by athletes such as Tom Brady and Kobe Bryant. His sophomore campaign produced 87 catches for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns, and he is expected to be a leading candidate for the Heisman if the Buckeyes achieve his objectives.
