Jeremiah St. Juste discusses mental recovery and leadership at Feyenoord
Feyenoord defender Jeremiah St. Juste has discussed his recovery from physical and mental challenges since returning to the club in January. After an initial period focused on regaining fitness, St. Juste reports feeling mentally calmer and more settled, which has positively impacted his physical performance.
St. Juste has successfully completed full ninety-minute matches in the first two league games of the new season. He credited the supportive environment at Feyenoord, noting that both former manager Robin van Persie and current manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst were open to communication regarding his well-being.
Reflecting on his development, St. Juste identified several mentors who influenced his leadership style, including Marten de Roon and former Sporting CP captain Sebastian Coates. He emphasized that finding mental stability was a significant challenge that he has worked hard to overcome to perform at a high level.
