Jeremiah Trotter Jr. fined by NFL following ejection

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has been fined $6,428 by the NFL following an ejection during the team’s Week 5 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The ejection occurred on the opening kickoff after a physical altercation with Jaguars defensive end Bryan Thomas Jr., who was also fined $4,972.

Despite the disciplinary action, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio confirmed that Trotter is set to move into an expanded role within the defense. Following a standout performance in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams, where he recorded a career-high 15 tackles, the team plans to utilize Trotter in a regular linebacker rotation alongside Jihaad Campbell and starter Zack Baun.

Trotter Jr., a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, will look to resume his role this Sunday when the Eagles host the Carolina Panthers.
