Jeremie Frimpong injury sidelines Liverpool defender

Liverpool defender Jeremie Frimpong has sustained a hamstring injury during a Premier League match against Brentford. The Netherlands international entered the game as a substitute but was forced off in the 52nd minute.

Manager Andoni Iraola described the situation as a “massive” issue, noting that it will be difficult for Frimpong to return before the international break. The injury is expected to sideline the 25-year-old for approximately six games.

The injury exacerbates a right-back crisis for the club, as Conor Bradley is also expected to remain unfit until after the November international period. Consequently, Ronald Araujo is expected to continue playing in a makeshift right-back role.

In related injury news, manager Iraola provided an update on Dominik Szoboszlai. While the Hungary international suffered a setback during his comeback at Brentford, the manager indicated it was not a major new injury and that the player is roughly in the same recovery position as the previous week.
