Jeremiyah Love scores touchdown in Cardinals' NFL debut

Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love made an immediate impact in his NFL debut for the Arizona Cardinals during their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

After recovering from a preseason ankle injury, the former Notre Dame player was officially listed as active for the season opener. On the Cardinals’ opening drive, quarterback Jacoby Brissett led the offense to a red-zone opportunity. Love scored his first career touchdown on a second-and-goal rush from the five-yard line, finding a lane to the left pylon to beat the Chargers' defense.

Love, who was selected third overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, enters the season as a foundational piece for head coach Mike LaFleur’s offense. While the Cardinals entered the game as underdogs, Love’s performance provided an early boost to the team.
