Jeremy Clarkson criticizes UK business climate at Tory conference

Jeremy Clarkson made a surprise appearance at the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, where he criticized the Labour government’s impact on the agricultural sector and the UK business climate. Speaking alongside shadow environment secretary Victoria Atkins and land agent Charlie Ireland, Clarkson expressed concerns regarding proposed inheritance tax reforms and their potential effect on family farms.

Clarkson described the recent year as exceptionally difficult for his Oxfordshire farm, noting that the harvest yielded minimal results. He also criticized planning officers for interfering with land use decisions. Regarding business expansion, Clarkson stated he is considering opening a second pub but specified it would be located outside of the United Kingdom, questioning the incentive to establish new businesses in the current British economic environment.
