Jeremy Clarkson labels Volvo ES90 as his most foolish vehicle

Former Top Gear and Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson, 66, reviewed the Volvo ES90 Single Motor Ultra electric saloon, priced at £77,260 and equipped with a 92 kWh battery, 338 bhp and an estimated 398‑mile range. He awarded the car three stars out of five, praising its spacious interior, high‑quality materials and quiet, comfortable ride.

Clarkson criticised the model’s reliance on a central touchscreen for routine functions, noting the absence of physical buttons for volume, climate and steering‑wheel adjustments. He also highlighted the card‑style keyless access system, which once locked the doors on him and required a lift home while the vehicle was retrieved. These issues, he argued, undermined an otherwise well‑engineered vehicle.
