Jeremy Clarkson rewards Alpine F1 team after Monaco podium

Former Alpine team principal Otmar Szafnauer has shared details regarding a lighthearted moment involving television personality Jeremy Clarkson following the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. After Esteban Ocon secured a third-place podium finish, Clarkson fulfilled a social media promise to reward the team.

Clarkson, whose Diddly Squat farm is located near the Alpine factory in Enstone, had previously vowed to provide a six-pack of his Hawkstone beer to every team member if a driver reached the podium. To deliver the reward, Clarkson arrived at the Enstone facility with a Lamborghini tractor pulling a large farm trailer filled with beer and hay.

Szafnauer recounted that the delivery was a public event involving the team's 875 staff members. During the celebration, Ocon expressed gratitude to Clarkson for keeping his word, prompting a humorous remark from Clarkson: ‘That’s ‘cause I’m not French!’
