Jeremy Clarkson to auction three ‘The Grand Tour’ cars

Jeremy Clarkson is auctioning three cars used during his time on ‘The Grand Tour’. The sale will be conducted by Iconic Auctioneers as part of ‘The Iconic Sale’ at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham, UK, on November 14 and 15.

A primary highlight of the collection is a 1982 Lancia Montecarlo Spider. This specific vehicle was driven by Clarkson during the Zimbabwe and Botswana special, ‘One for the Road’, which served as the final episode featuring the original trio of Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. To prepare the Lancia for the extreme African heat, it underwent several modifications, including the installation of Ferrari 308-style rear lights, four exhaust outlets, Lancia Delta Integrale wheels, and a revised grille and headlight arrangement. The interior was also modified with cloth seats and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel to mitigate electrical risks.

None of the three vehicles have a reserve price, meaning they will be sold to the highest bidder. While Clarkson stated he is selling them because he lacks the opportunity to enjoy them, auctioneers suggested an additional reason for the sale may be revealed in an upcoming season of ‘Clarkson’s Farm’.
