Jeremy Clarkson’s pub targeted by PETA in provocative protest

Animal rights organization PETA staged a provocative protest outside The Farmer's Dog, a pub owned by Jeremy Clarkson in Burford, Oxfordshire. The demonstration featured a realistic-looking imitation dog appearing to be cooked on a barbecue to draw comparisons between the consumption of pigs and pets.

A sign at the protest asked patrons, “Wouldn't eat the Farmer's Dog? Why eat a pig? Go vegan!” PETA Senior Campaigns Manager Kate Werner stated that Clarkson, who has expressed fondness for pigs, should put that affection into practice by avoiding pork, arguing that there is “no more reason to eat a pig than a dog.”

The protest follows previous tensions between the broadcaster and the organization. Clarkson, known for his series Clarkson's Farm, has previously discussed the necessity of farming and meat consumption in the context of maintaining livestock populations.
