Jeremy Renner confirms absence from Avengers: Doomsday
Actor Jeremy Renner has confirmed that he will not appear in the upcoming Marvel Studios film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as his character, Hawkeye (Clint Barton). During a recent Q&A, Renner addressed speculation regarding his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), stating, “No, no, no, no. Not in that one.”
Renner jokingly remarked that the Avengers will “probably lose” because Marvel did not contact him for the production, adding, “They didn’t call me, so it’s their fault.” While his absence from this specific installment is confirmed, Renner has previously expressed a desire to return to the MCU, potentially for a second season of the ‘Hawkeye’ series or other future projects.
The actor also noted his excitement for the theatrical re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ ahead of the December 18 release of ‘Doomsday.’ Renner, who has been recovering from a serious snowmobile accident in 2023, remains a significant figure in the franchise, having portrayed Hawkeye in several major films including ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
