Jeremy Strong used method acting for ‘The Social Reckoning’

Director Aaron Sorkin has revealed that actor Jeremy Strong utilized method acting techniques while filming ‘The Social Reckoning’, a follow-up to ‘The Social Network’. Strong, who portrays Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, reportedly stayed in character by avoiding social interaction with co-stars on set to mimic how he imagines Zuckerberg treats others.

Sorkin noted that Strong did not speak in his own voice or walk like himself during production. The film focuses on the 2021 Facebook whistleblower leaks and the ‘Facebook Files’ investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter, Sony reportedly hired an outside law firm to conduct a thorough legal vetting of the film's factual accuracy.

Strong has expressed a sense of responsibility regarding the role, noting that he contacted Zuckerberg via email to convey his respect for the veracity of the project. ‘The Social Reckoning’ is scheduled for theatrical release on October 9.
