Jerez City Council announces 3.5 million euro investment in Chapín Stadium
The Jerez City Council has announced a planned investment of approximately 3.5 million euros to renovate the Chapín municipal stadium. The project, supported by the Diputación de Cádiz, aims to address long-standing issues with the facility.
Key improvements include replacing the turf at a cost of 400,000 euros, installing a new LED lighting system for 1.5 million euros, and replacing stadium seating for nearly 1.2 million euros. Additional works involve upgrading the irrigation system, repairing elevators, and improving accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
Mayor María José García-Pelayo stated that while previous efforts focused on neighborhood sports facilities, the city is now addressing the needs of Chapín. The administration noted that the stadium has faced historical problems, particularly regarding its drainage system.
