Jerez City Council initiates forced sale of dilapidated property

The Jerez City Council has initiated a forced sale procedure for a property located at Gaspar Fernández 5, near Calle Arcos. The building is included in the Municipal Registry of Ruinous Plots and Buildings due to its advanced state of deterioration and the failure of current owners to perform required rehabilitation works.

Belén de la Cuadra, the municipal delegate for Urbanism, stated that this action continues the government's efforts to use forced sales as a tool to recover abandoned buildings and degraded spaces. Since June 2023, the administration has completed eleven such procedures, which are expected to facilitate the construction of 183 new homes, primarily in the historic center. The initiative aims to improve neighborhoods, preserve heritage, and encourage new residents to move into the city center.
