Jerez de la Frontera intensifies palm tree maintenance

The City Council of Jerez de la Frontera has launched an intensified palm tree pruning program across various urban and rural locations. This initiative is supported by a new parks and gardens contract signed in May, which has increased personnel to expand maintenance coverage.

Work is currently underway in high-traffic areas, including Avenida de la Universidad, Avenida Álvaro Domecq, Vallesequillo, and the San Eloy complex. Additionally, pruning is being coordinated with the Delegation of Education at the CEIP Montealegre to ensure school grounds are prepared for the upcoming academic year.

Jaime Espinar, Deputy Mayor for Public Services, stated that the primary goals are to ensure citizen safety by preventing falling branches and to improve the health and aesthetics of the city's greenery. The new contract aims to increase the frequency of maintenance to prevent issues before they arise.
