Jerrabomberra High School completes major capacity expansion
Jerrabomberra High School in New South Wales has completed a major expansion project ahead of schedule, doubling its capacity from 500 to 1,000 students. The upgrade was a 2023 election promise aimed at addressing growing demand in the Queanbeyan and Jerrabomberra regions.
The new facilities include a two-storey building with 16 additional classrooms, a science laboratory, a multimedia workshop and studio, and a timber workshop. A significant portion of the expansion focuses on vocational education and training (VET), featuring a semi-commercial kitchen and industry-standard equipment to support students pursuing hospitality and trade careers.
In addition to academic and vocational spaces, the project delivered expanded outdoor green spaces, a large shade structure, improved staff and student facilities, and increased bike storage and parking.
