Jerry Garcia Art Book Reissued on His Birthday

A rare collection of Jerry Garcia’s paintings, drawings and sketches has been reissued to coincide with the musician’s birthday. The book, originally printed in 1992, is being republished by Jerry Garcia Music Arts in partnership with Terrapin Stationers and its founder Ted Harrington. The new edition includes a personal dedication and highlights Garcia’s lifelong habit of signing his artwork after a 1987 suggestion from his partner Manasha.

Garcia, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Grateful Dead, was born on August 1, 1942 in San Francisco. While celebrated for his musical influence on 1960s counterculture, his visual art has also been exhibited worldwide. The re‑release offers fans and collectors a fresh look at this lesser‑known facet of his legacy.
