Jerry Garcia Week Celebrates Music and Community Across Bay Area Aug 1‑9, 2026

The annual Jerry Week returns to the San Francisco Bay Area from August 1 to August 9, 2026, marking the period between Jerry Garcia’s birth and death. Highlights include a two‑night run by Dark Star Orchestra at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre, a benefit concert for the Rex Foundation featuring Melvin Seals & JGB and the Sam Grisman Project, and the 24th annual Jerry Day at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in San Francisco’s McLaren Park with performances by Melvin Seals & JGB, Jazz Mafia and others.

The Grateful Dead Channel (Channel 23) will also observe “The Days Between” with a week‑long programming slate that revisits classic Garcia concerts, special DJ sets and an encore broadcast of Dead & Company’s August 3 2025 show celebrating Bobby Weir’s final performance. The combined festivities underscore Garcia’s lasting influence on music, friendship and community in the Bay Area.
